After reading the Data of Theta, I thank God I am a Beta
And pause for a moment of time, To jot a note forming a rhyme
Which part of The Theta Data do I like best, It’s hard to separate it from the rest
For instance the story of pink and blue, I’m waiting I’m waiting for part two
And Dan Rich did it again, The profile of Charley sure pleased Ken
I’ve never been very good, At doing what we really should
To take a moment and to write, I’m sure of one Beta it does delight
News of Wooglin the Beta dragon, Come on brothers keep the “tales” a wagglin’
I read it all even about giving money, A real real need and that’s not funny
I read the “Of Ever Honored Memory” those who had hit the road, Makes me
thankful there is a God
I even read about the brothers I don’t know, Find it of interest, what they are doing,
and where they go
As I look back at Beta, brother, I am so glad I did not join another
As I started college I had no plan, Had no idea I would join the clan
But once you join Beta Theta Pi, It’s in your blood ’til you die
One thing I hate to mention, You all know of the recent suspension
There old Theta is scarred again, Hope we are forgiven and recover our sin
These young brothers without their mothers, Who’d have thought they’d get caught
So list it as part of Theta historee, And accept the challenge both you and me
It’s who we are both good and bad, Even though it can make us sad
So let’s not hang our heads in shame, We are Betas just the same
So let me wrap this ditty up, As we pass the loving cup
I’m proud of you all as we grow, Even though I have brothers I don’t know
So pass that loving cup again, And remember me as brother Ken
P.S.
It’s hard for me to stop at this, As I read of brothers I do miss
So keep on penning a line or two, Theta Data keeps me informed; what about you?
Really really I must quit, As I’m writing while I sit
My drink is gone that I did quaff, Hope this ditty made you laugh
So I sign it one more time, As I finish my little rhyme
It’s my age, I need to take a leak, Signing off, Brother Zeke
