By Ritwick Ghoshal ’93. Past Chapter President
The 1992-93 school year was a very good one for the Theta Chapter. In fact the wheel has turned. and I urn proud to say that the Meta Chapter stands tall among all the fraternities on campus. When I assumed the office of president over a year ago, my goals were just dreams. We were still regarded as a fraternity that was yet to fulfill its real potential. But the fact that our chapter won the award for the best academic standing on the hill did a lot to defuse that image.
Our philanthropic endeavors were no less encouraging. The brothers in the house decided to get involved In a big way with the American Heart Association. We managed to pull off a successful walkathon and raise money for a noble Call-SC. [See letter excerpt below.) Then came the vagaries of rush. But somehow we knew that we would be able to make It our best rush program to date. Brothers Carter Blitch ’94 and Rick Ritzier ’95 ran an aggressive program from which we obtained 13 new pledges. with four others waiting in the wings
The house has seen a dramatic turnaround sine the late ‘80s We are now a house of motivated believers who know that with hard work and diligence nothing is impossible. To all Betas, present and past, I welcome you to visit your new, rejuvenated Theta Chapter. You won’t be disappointed!
