Accomplishments worth nothing

By Donald c. Bishop ‘77

Theta beta house has several accomplishments worth nothing. This spring we have 24 brothers in the house, our return to campus. Last spring the house, our largest number since our return to campus. Last spring the house ranked second among all fraternities in grades. Kudos to the guys, the pledge class was particularly

Successful and deserves high praise. This fall we hope to reach between 30 to 35 brothers in this house.

The house Corporations is looking for new alumni to serve on the board. We typically meet two to three times each semester. If you are interested in serving on the board, please contact me at 641-368-3011 or john Bolekr at 1-800-448-4374.

We are appreciative of the annul gifts send to the house by alumni for our annual fund. This year over 50 alumni have already contributed more then $2,100.gifts small or large will be used to improve the house. We welcome and need your participation.

Two year ago we renovated the first floor and parts of the basement with more then $50,000 received through the alumni camping. We have now begun to review other structural needs not covered by the earlier gift. Each year the houses corporation will update the beta alumni on the project we wish to accomplish.

There is a sad note to passes along. Trevor Andary ’90 and a member of Ohio Wesleyan’s Phi beta kappa society, was severely injured while hiking in Scotland. He will remain paralyzed from the west down. His address for the next month or two is: stoke Mandeville hospital, Mandeville road, Aylesburgy, Buckinghamshire, England, NP 218HL.

He would love to her from you. Any beta who wishes to contribute to help him deal with financials challenges of his rehabilitation, please send your gift to the house corporations and  note your intent for it to be used for Trevor. We will contribute any gifts to a special fund and inform him of your support.
