Howard -Bud” Anderson, Cleveland junior, entered school as a freshman with the class of 1944. In the three years Bud has been here, he has shown himself a worthy friend and loyal Beta. His best efforts have been for the fraternity. And he has sometimes shown more interest in his duties about the chapter than he has in his college studies.
Bud was appointed to a position on the social committee his freshman year, and showed his abilities in the assistance he rendered during that spring. The follow ing year, he served as social chairman and recorder, and took minutes efficiently and neatly, and took charge of the Miami Triad and the annual Spring Formal. Then this year, his Business Ad major stood him in good stead when he was asked to guide the finances of the Chapter as Treasurer. Hardly had he gotten this headache run ning smoothly before he assumed the duties of General Treasurer for the Fraternity Dining Service which only added to his responsibilities. Bud’s mania for organization and efficiency supported him during the first trying days of the cooperative experiment, and the Chapter and Dining Service have gone without a hitch.
During his Freshman year, Bud landed a berth on the business staff of the Tran script, Ohio Wesleyan’s weekly, and advanced from position to position until he now holds the reins over the advertisers once again he has the headache of collecting and paying bills as Advertising Manager.
But all his talents don’t run to books and figures, for he finds time to play the Sousaphone in the Ohio Wesleyan Marching and Concert Bands. At the end of his sophomore year he marched out of band wearing a red sweater with black numerals.
His sophomore year, he was made a member of the university calendar committee.
Under the name of “Muscles”, and “Sleepy”, he earned a reputation for sleeping more than any other man in the house. He also manages to aparently get “A’s” in courses which to all appearances he has been flunking, if one is to judge bluebooks or finals. No one has yet discovered the secret of his success on this score.
So we have Howard M. Anderson, Jr., a regular guy, a hard worker, and a real Beta.
