Andres Duarte ’65

Hello Tom.
I am struggling to decide on my next move — either stay in a broken down Venezuela that has an inflation of 5.00 pct per month and the highest crime rate in the world, combined with currency exchange controls and a completely 19th century communistic govt., or to simply become one more immigrant to the USA. Looking back, I am thankful for having kept my USA citizenship going back to the Vietnam days (I sweated the draft, and fortunately was given an exception due to my graduate work in geology, and then they simply forgot me due to my low eyesight). As it now comes in very handy to be able to migrate, but then I don’t want to leave Venezuela and become one more refugee. I look forward to seeing the group of ’65 grads next year! In Venezuela, Juan Sykora, class of ’66 is a frequent visitor to my home and office. We stick together, trying to guess what the next move will be on part of govt. When can we start talking again about the revival of the theta chapter??
