The General Fraternity Board of Trustees continues to address issues of performance. Our goal continues to be to develop Beta’s image so that all our constituencies (universities, parents, students and alumni) continue to see Beta as the most desirable fraternity to have on any campus. We are focusing on delivering value through our leadership programming and assistance to undergraduate Betas and their chapters. The endowment, developed by the Upon These Principles Campaign, is beginning to yield dividends (both tangible and intangible) as the 12 quarter rolling average begins to reach full value. The earnings from the endowment are being funneled into program development and undergraduate scholarships to attend the excellent programs that Beta is offering. In 1996, Beta sponsored 4 undergraduates to some type of leadership development program. In 2007, Beta sponsored 1496. Our goal is that everyone of Beta’s 6000 undergraduates will attend at least one sponsored leadership program during their undergraduate years. We are almost there.
