But where was Yost before Michigan?
He began his coaching career at Ohio Wesleyan University and led them to the school’s only victory over Ohio State. After leaving Ohio Wesleyan, Yost held brief coaching stints at the University of Kansas, the University of Nebraska and Stanford U. before accepting the position at the U. of Michigan, 1901.
