Donald R. Wedge ’51

Donald R. Wedge, 82 of Clermont,

Florida, passed away April 20, 2012. He was born August 13, 1929 in Carey, Ohio and came to Florida in 1997 from Troy, Ohio.

Donald was Catholic by faith and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, American Legion and Ohio Wesleyan University Athletic Hall of Fame, was a major college referee for football and basketball, and an NFL referee for 24 years. He was also a National Sales Manager for Hobort Brothers Corporation and a Sales Manager for Miller Valentine Real Estate in Dayton, OH. He is predeceased by his wife, Ruth Ann Wedge. Donald is survived by his son, Chris Wedge of Clermont; daughter, Laura Blackburn and her husband Ron of New Orleans, LA.; brothers, Bob Wedge of Carey, OH, John Wedge of Columbus, OH, Tom Wedge of Huntsville, OH; sister, Sybill Kunkel of Savannah, GA; 4 grandchildren, Carrie Lis, Ashley Humphrey, Cole Wedge and MaKenna Wedge.
