FRED JOHNSON Ashland senior. .married a Gamma Phi in June graduated at mid-year . . . a six-foot-four mountain of muscles .. . has brains, too . likes to play clarinet in a german band . . .Big shot politician . . . gets into everything . . . . Number one racketeer . . . likes to make money . . plays “B.J.” incessently . now in Army Air Force Materials Command.

PAUL MILLER— Norwalk senior . .tall, dark, and handsome . . . likes to have women chase him . . . especially a certain Gamma Phi . . . . loves a good argument … . get him excited and he’ll agree on your side . . . a loyal friend . . . IF until h gets an operation . . . wants to join his brother in Army Air Corps.

JOE NEWHARD Carey senior . . . .also graduated at mid-year . . . with honors in . . made collection of honorary kLy. . . full mune is George Joseph McCabe Newhard . . . his great grandfather was prexy at O.W.U. . . . likes girls . . . .had high point average . . . can do seventhings at once . . . pledgemaster for two years . . ex-Murphy Hall boy . . . Land member …. drove a Ford convertible when he could get it . . teaching school until called to Army Air Corps.

BUD ANDERSON– junior from Chicago, Baltimore, Liina and now Cleveland . . . . he gets around Pinned to a Cleveland Delta Gamma girl likes to fool with figures . . . treasurer of house and F.D.S. . . . answers to most any-name . . . prefers “Bud”  advertising boss of Transcript . . . likes any kind cf exercise that doesn’t require exercise . . . . cuts classes . . . hopes to be at Navy’s Abbott Hall in November.

BOB BRENTLINGER— Lima junior . . . . the Beta’s White Hope (quote 1942 Bijou) . . in love with pert little Tri Delt he calls “The Imp” . . . B.M.O.0  Student Body Athletic Representative . . modest, unassuming . . . known to the boy sas “Bumps” or “Brent- . known to the girls by that crew-cut and manly physique . . . now in Uncle Sam’s Army . . Prexy last semester . . . gridiron whiz . . . good at track and basketball, too.

BILL FREEMAN— Greencastle, Ind., sophomore . . . Little Caesar . . great dramatist . . . or should we say, scene stealer? . . . plays excellent fools roles . . do they come natural, Bill? . . . ‘Writes, Jirects, produces, and acts in radio plays . . . Orson Wells, Jr. . . . would have been a Phi Bete if he had studied . . spends all his time on activities Executive Secretar, Y.M.C.A. . . . pinned to Oak Park, Ill., girl at Park College . . . . address is now U. S. Army . . . . has a receeding forehead which keeps on nice black beard.

CHUCK GATESMAN Howell, Mich. sophomore . . . one of the life of the party boys . . . been quiet since he left in January to help out the Army . . . “Baldy of the Beta House” . . . almost earned his varsity “D” (Doc’s) . . . always wanted to get a date, but his “girlfriend” was always out of town . . . . he found everything “tough”.

DICK GREGG- – Columbus sophomore. . . one of the North High boys plays football and basketball . . . pinned to an Alpha Xi . next to Lucile, likes food b. best . . .. comes back to Wesleyan as V-12.

RAY MECIRIAN— New York sophomore . . . radio genius . . . Phi Society . . .built dining room – kitchen loud speaker system . . . bashful and quiet Army called him in January.

CHARLES B. ORDWAY Battle Creek sophomore . . . Michigan’s gift to the fair sex . . . plays classical records 24 hours a day . . . succumbed to an Alpha Chi O’s charm .. looks good with a “butch” hair cut . . . sings tenor in Singer’s Club and Episcopal Choir . . . a member of the Marine Corps Reserve.

Pre-Medic in Naval Reserve.

DALE MINTON— Wilmington fresh  man . . . . called “Pinky” to match his complexion . • . zoot-suiter . . . jitterbug kid . . . . has enough records to abolish shortage . . . . a dry wit .. . one half of McFarland – Minton touchdown combina  tion . . . . an Army man.

BOB MAUCK Columbus freshman. another North high boy . . Stan Mauck’s son . . . a chip off the old block . . . had “inside info” . but it wasn’t accurate . . . . he’s in the Army Air Corps pledge class prexy.

WAYNE McFARLAND — New comers town freshman . . . known to all as ‘Tacky” . . . freshman football star other half of McFarland – Minton touch  down combination . . . . another member of the E.R.C’s. Lost Battalion.

TOM ORR— New York freshman . . .”Ears” . . . . a Perkins Hall boy . . . did not want to be initiated until war is over . . . . now in Army.

JACK POCOCK— Delaware freshman . . . one of the mid-year freshmen  “Pokie” . . . dapper grocery clerk . . . takes a real interest in things especially women . . U.S.N.R. . . . an engineer.
