Memorial Service for Ann Foster Corey

 On the misty evening of July 8. 1998, a group of approximately 50 family and friends gathered on a pier in Stone Harbor, NJ., to remember Ann Foster Corey, wife of Bob Corey ’54. Ann passed away Last January at their home in Las Vegas after a long battle against cancer.

A native of Easton, Pa., Ann met Bob at OWU and the two were married after They both graduated in 1954. A lifelong teacher, Ann held teaching certificates for Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland. She received her master’s degree in education in 1987.

Ann loved her family and friends, traveling ( throughout the U.S. and to China and France), and teaching. She touched the Lives of many people because she was such a giving person.. In recognition of this a scholarship fund in her name has twin established at OWU to help future.

Courage, generosity, love, hope and peace defined Ann’s We. She leaves, to cherish her memory , Bob (husband of 43 years ) sons Bob Jr. of Virginia. Jim of Maryland, Bill of Las Vegas, daughter Joanna of New Hampshire; seven grandchildren and one on the way sisters Irene of Las Vegas and Susan of Stone Harbor,.. and brother John of New York.

The Memorial Service was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Dan Rich ’55 with other Betas Dick DeVos: ’54 ,and Bill Quinn ’48, in attendance.  At the close, Ann’s children placed beautiful. flower bedecked wreath into the waters she loved so well, and her grandchildren released balloons into heavens in tribute to a life lived bravely And Well. Let us continue to keep Bob and the family in our thoughts  and prayers.
