Following a tradition of Theta Chapter, Beta Theta Pi, the Robert E. Watson Award Pin was presented to Samuel Pardoe, ’56, at the annual initiation banquet on February 11, 1956. The presentation was made by the first semester wearer of the pin, Chuck Glander, ’56.
“The recipient of the award is chosen for his unusual and outstanding service to the welfare and progress of the chapter. He must be a member of the active chapter who has contributed enthusiastically and unreservedly throughout his first three years in the University, and to an exceptional degree, in the maintenance of the strength and standards of Theta Chapter.”
“Sam” hails from Washington, D.C., and is majoring in business administration. His major contribution to the chapter was as the fall president. Brother Pardoe is now chairman of the Theta Chapter new house committee.
Besides his campus activities which included Treasurer of the Student Government and a member of circle-K, he is the businessman of the Chapter. We will all miss his leadership and business dealings after his graduation this June.
