Projections and goals of theta Chapter corporation

We need your help to attain them

By Dr. Robert Whitacre

The house corporation, which began three years ago as a new organization, began the house renovation drive this past spring with a goal of $150,000.in cooperation with the university’s  building and grounds department, we established a list of priorities to restore the beta house to an attractive fraternity house.

With moneys from the house corporation, plus new moneys pledged and raised this past year, we began the renovations. Necessary maintenance has been completed by the university.

The past summer, we made improvements to the house costing over $44,000. the renovations at this point have been made in the most visible areas. The living room, now a “showplace,” has new carpeting, drapes, collapsible doors separating it from the dining room, leather sofas and chairs, brass lamps and sturdy tables. The dining room has a new floor, new drapes, and new tables and chairs. The chapter room has a new floor with three stars. The rec room sports a new floor, new lighting, new table and bench units. The TV room in the basement has a new carpet and some sturdy used furniture. We hope to make improvements next in the sleeping and study areas, the hallways and the outside patio area.

With approval from OWU, we finished our present remodeling with moneys drawn against projected funds to be raised. We hope to have substantial support from the theta chapter alumni during the remaining renovation fund drive.
