Richy Deserved Recognition

By Don Bishop ’77, Faculty Adviser

The fraternity enjoyed its best year since its return to campus. This spring our house ranked in the top two in GPAs with an overall average above 3.0. The university also presented the chapter with the Dean’s Award for the most outstanding fraternity in the 1992-93 academic year. Our grades, community service and campus leadership were key considerations for this prestigious award.

Beta also received another important award from the university’s Building Maintenance Office for our superb care of our house’s physical plant. This is important issue. Our brothers put forth great efforts to take care of our house and I feel that this recognition was richly deserved.

In the fall the house will have over 30 members in residence, which is our largest population since our return.

The brothers have determined that a major goal for 1993-94 will be to host more alumni events and create a greater bond with our alumni. I encourage all alumni to respond to the contacts that you will receive from the undergraduate brothers over the summer. They want to get your ideas for events you would enjoy.

It’s been a good year , but we believe that next year will be even better. The return of Beta to the top of the fraternity ranks at Ohio Wesleyan is great cause for celebration. We now intend to stay on top.
