Striving for excellence

By Gregory Ritz’92,Chapter President

The theta chapter has begun its new academic year with a burst of excellence. Following a scholastic review of fraternities at Ohio Wesleyan, Beta finished second in academic standings with an accumulative GPA of 2.84.this fore –place jump since last year has shown our dedication to academic excellence.

Theta is an outstanding chapter in philanthropical work as well. Beginning only weeks after classes started, we a golf tournament and a clothing drive and set a date for planting trees, all the benefit the community. The  brothers have all agreed on the  importance of rush, and philanthropy is a great way for theta  chapter to couple helping the needy and earning a positive image-both  helpful when it comes times for rush.

This past weekend we hosted the most successful alumni event since our refounding in 1987.the brothers realized that theta’s only link to our tradition and history is through our contact with alumni/ cost, ties, active pins and flowers for the wives was how the 21 brothers greeted each and every alumnus and his family. The role number span many decades, beginning with an alumnus who graduated in 1928 and ending with last year‘s graduating class. It is our hope that the alumni realize their importance in continuing the tradition of beta theta Pi. The brothers encourage alumni participation in helping make theta chapter a leader among the Greek community.
