When the Theta Chapter at OhioWesleyanUniversity was starting back up, we were in need of a faculty adviser. During that time, a new dean of enrollment management was starting at Ohio Wesleyan. the brothers approached the new dean, Don Bishop, and asked if he would like to help Bet get back on campus. He agreed, and the Theta chapter is very grateful that he did.
Having gone to Notre Dame where there are no fraternities, Don didn’t realize exactly what he was getting himself into. Don initiated as a Beta and helped to bring Beta beck to Ohio Wesley-an University. We would not have been able to return without his help. He negotiated with the university to allow the Betas to take back possession of our house at 9 Williams Drive.
Don has always been there for us, to help or to advise or just to have a Saturday afternoon barbecue. Over the past two years, he has been getting busier and buster. He was forced to give up many other extracurricular activities, but he always made time for the house. Don announced this semester that he is leaving OhioWesleyanUniversity to pursue other interests. He was quick to inform the Betas that he wants to stay involved with the house as much as he can. Many people around the University will miss Don, but none more than the Betas. The rest of the university knows Don as “Dean Bishop,” But to us he will always be Brother Bishop.
Thanks for all your help, Don, and good luck.
