This year at the Beta house, the social program is well-rounded. We got the fall semester off to a good start with a pledge open house. We followed this up with a pledge open house. We followed this up with a highly successful pledge formal, whose theme was the “House of Blue Lights.” Shortly afterwards, we held our annual Beta Breakfast, for political purposes, of course. Throughout the term, we have given weekly dessert parties for the different sororities on campus, and have had our usual weekend date nights. Our own quartet’s entertainment has been the highlight of many of these events.
Two most significant functions took place in November and December; they include our winter formal and our Christmas party which we held in conjunction with the Kappa Gammas for the Children from the Orphans Home here in Delaware.
Our winter formal occurred on November 19, with the theme of “Disneyland.” Our orchestra was a little group from Columbus Called “Wild (and they really were) Bill Graham.” A large amount of the work and effort was put into decorating the house, but the compliments we all received made it well worth the effort. The decorations depicted different characters created by Walt Disney.
