Theta Chapter And Beta Theta Pi Lose A Generous Supporter

Robert C. Lafferty  Jr. ’28 passed away on December 26, 1996 in Satellite Beach, EL. A Navy officer, 1942-47, he was retired from the Naval Reserve in 1964. He was at president, Applachian Geological Society. 1938-48, and was active in the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and a fellow of Geological Society of America. Active in geological survey and research in Alaska and the lo lower 48. Robert was as Eau Gallic city engineer, a charter member of the International Turquoise Association and a volunteer at the Air Force Space Museum. A proud supporter of Beta and its scholarship program. he made financial gifts and donated a sizeable collection of semi precious stones, bolas of the Zuni tribe, to the Beta Foundation .He received his Fraternal Fifties recognition in 1994 at a large Beta reunion at the chapter house in Delaware, Ohio. Robert willed his entire estate to the Beta Theta Pi Foundation and was recognized in the Convention 1996 issue of the Reset Tina Pi magazine and in the December 1996 issue of the Theta Deta for his generosity.
