This report marks the end of a very successful year at the Theta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi. With the help of our 17 new initiates many improvements have been made on the house. The T.V. room was paneled and a new 25″ Zenith color T.V. was purchased.
This year has also seen the construction of the long awaited patio on the rear of the house. This was due mainly to the hard work of house manager Dave Mack ’26.
The Daughters of the Dragon have finally become an active part of the house. We recently initiated 18 new girls and are looking forward to their help in rush next year. The Daughters were a real asset during our service project this year also. We were able to donate $300 to Bellepoint School for the Mentally Retarded.
The Theta House Company has decided to reorganize and become involved with the chapter once again. They had a re-organizational meeting late Spring term and are looking for Alums who are willing to help. Remember all Alumni are automatically riembers of the house company. Get in touch with Thomas Abernathy (’61) if you are interested in helping out.
Plans for Homecoming next year (Oct 12) are already started. A luncheon, dinner, and cocktail party are being organized, so plan on attending. More details on this will follow over the summer.
The close of this year finds the Theta Beta’s financially sound. After the many improvements and additions made to the house this year I’m proud to say there is still a little left over to start rush next fall on the right foot.
We’ll be looking forward to seeing you at Homecoming next fall.
Yours in -kai-
Randall L. Houlas
