By Brian Hill ’96, Pledge Educator
After studying in Germany during the fall semester., I had the pleasure of serving as pledge educator this semester.I appreciated being able to jump back into the working of the house, and after initiating our pledge class into the brotherhood on April 5.1 felt confident in their ability to take over responsibilities in the chapter. They are the most active and academically successful pledge Class I have seen at Ohio Wesleyan. I hope you will lend them your support during their years here.
Since I was alumni chair-man as a freshman, I have been made aware of the importance of our traditions and heritage. This appreciation carried over in my position of pledge educator. I wanted our pledges to have a better understanding Of our history and the brothers who made it possible. In addition to the Son of the Stars, the pledges read the Theta chapter history book, which covets the first 60 ‘years of Theta history, and were asked quiz bonus questions about alumni; fur example, which alumnus has the nickname of Fuzzy? (lf you know, let us hear from you!) We also, took a weekend trip to the new General Fraternity offices in oxford.
I hope you get involved in the fall reunion plans, which under the guidance of Dick DeVos ’54. I wivuki like to thank Bill Anthony ’45, Andres Duarte ’65, Hal Fausnaugh ’48, Tom Tatham 56, Robert Lafferty ‘28 and many others for making me proud to be a Beta!
