William W. “Bill” Giffen ’58

Bill and his wife, Judy Yingling, both graduates of the OWU class of 1958, have two sons…..William, a computer engineer systems architect, and Mark, a landscape architect. They have 6 grandchildren. Bill’s career included working with his late father’s United Insurance Agency in Lima, Ohio He served as commanding colonel of the 148th Infantry of the Ohio National Guard, and is currently the manager of the Lima Symphony Chorus. His wife Judy, performed service for many years in musical activities in Lima including 35 years as section leader of the Lima Concert Band. Judy is currently serving on the staff in the mathematics department of James A. Rhodes State College in Lima. They live at 2875 Ft. Amanda Rd., Lima, Ohio 45805. They purchased their home in 1995 and have since completed restoration of the 1832 mansion “Breesewood” which is on the National Historic Register.
