He earned both his master\u2019s and Ph.D. from Indiana University. After teaching at Indiana and the University of Michigan, he became an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of leveland. He returned to teaching in 1969 at the University of Toledo. Doug received his law degree in 1978. He of\ufb01cially retired professor emeritus in 1989. During his career he authored 17 books and over 800 articles in the area of banking and corporate con\ufb02ict. He was the lead witness before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on bank reform. Doug was signi\ufb01cantly involved in church, community, and haritable organizations. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gayle: six children and their \ufb01ve spouses. C.
