{"id":1869,"date":"2002-02-13T16:16:38","date_gmt":"2002-02-13T16:16:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thetachapterbtp.org\/content\/?p=1869"},"modified":"2013-03-05T21:20:07","modified_gmt":"2013-03-05T21:20:07","slug":"ron-pettegrew-56","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thetachapterbtp.org\/content\/ron-pettegrew-56\/","title":{"rendered":"Ron Pettegrew \u201956"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ron Pettegrew \u201956, originally from Upper Arlington and most\u00a0recently living in Denver, Colo., died May 18, 2001, after a short illness following the discovery of severe complications from prostate cancer.\u00a0Upon notifying us of his death, Ron\u2019s son Parke wrote \u201c\u2026 my father\u00a0cherished his memories with his fraternity brothers and spoke warmly\u00a0of the 1994 reunion you had and how much fun he had with all of his\u00a0fraternity brothers. The only thing he would like for me to add is for\u00a0you to make sure everyone gets their PSA checked twice a year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ron (along with the editor and 20 other freshmen) pledged Beta in\u00a0the fall of 1952. For the editor, sharing rooms with Ron during our sophomore and senior year was a real joy with many enriched moments.<\/p>\n<p>Ron graduated from OWU in 1956 at which time he received a\u00a0commission as second lieutenant in the USAF. Ron relocated to\u00a0Colorado soon after returning from active duty with the USAF, and\u00a0remained there for the rest of his life. He was the owner of a janitorial\u00a0services business in the Denver area for a number of years until the past\u00a012-15 years, during which time he owned and operated his own\u00a0commercial real estate firm.
