Bud served in the Navy during the Korean War. An attorney, he was assistant attorney general of Ohio\u00a0for three years, and law director of Jackson, Ohio,\u00a0for six years, before going into private practice. In 1993,\u00a0Bud was appointed judge of the Jackson County Municipal\u00a0Court.
