As expected, this semester has been a learning experience for\u00a0Theta chapter. The brothers have responded well to the\u00a0new rules and regulations necessary for our existence. We\u00a0adopted a new pledging process this past semester, which we\u00a0used to pledge one man: Eric B. Canty \u201902 of Grahanna, Ohio.\u00a0He has recently been initiated, and should be a strong asset to\u00a0this chapter in the future.<\/p>\n
Spring semester looks promising for a strong pledge class.\u00a0Through new rushing techniques, a strong rush chair, and a\u00a0devoted effort by all members, we have met quite a few men\u00a0interested in joining an organization such as ours. With the\u00a0adoption of a mandatory dry rushing period, we were forced to\u00a0find new ways to initially meet these gentlemen. Luckily we\u00a0have had the advice and counseling of a few recent alumni, and\u00a0several others interested in helping us. Tony Pedela, Pat Puhl,\u00a0and of course Marty Haskell have been a constant source of\u00a0ideas and advice that have proven extremely helpful.<\/p>\n
Although living in a dry house has been a huge, and\u00a0slightly difficult, change in our lives, several benefits have\u00a0developed from it. The house has been cleaner and more well\u00a0kept than any time I can remember. And brothers have been\u00a0involved in many more activities outside of the house than in\u00a0past years. We have made ourselves known to the community\u00a0by participating in several community service projects. The\u00a0chapter even hosted our own charity flag football tournament.<\/p>\n
We have recently been released of all social restrictions\u00a0placed on us by the IFC. Spring semester will once again\u00a0combine a social existence on campus with our current\u00a0activities, and hopefully a strong pledge class. We are looking\u00a0forward to spring semester and the benefits it holds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
