The Theta chapter of Beta sparked\u00a0by the smooth play of Brothers Silvas,\u00a0Pope and Boutan surprised the Intermural\u00a0Softball league at O.W.U. in\u00a0placing third with an 11-6 overall\u00a0record. Brothers Banerjee, Sherman\u00a0and P. Lee also contributed immensely\u00a0by batting .601, .593 and .549,\u00a0respectively.<\/p>\n
In the annual I.M. Track Meet\u00a0which was held recently at Shelby\u00a0Stadium, Brothers Cochran, Loehr,\u00a0McCready and swift independant 9.5\u00a0century man Carl Crum placed first\u00a0in both the 880 and 440 relays. Brother\u00a0“Bugg” Friend, still hampered by\u00a0injuries achieved while playing\u00a0varsity football, teamed with\u00a0Brothers Arnold and Mack in the\u00a0intermediate sprints and runs. Beta,\u00a0as an overall team, placed third in\u00a0overall point competition.<\/p>\n
Brothers Gotlieb ’74 and Mark Lee\u00a0’74 blistered the local nine hole golf\u00a0course in finishing second in the\u00a0C.M.L Open golf championship.<\/p>\n
Gotlieb, who took the honors as low\u00a0medalist in the event, felt disappointed\u00a0that he and Mark could not\u00a0bring home the trophy to Beta house\u00a0this year. Incidently, they were only\u00a0“pushed” out by one stroke.<\/p>\n
Finally, the Beta volleyball team is\u00a0currently in first place and striving to\u00a0take it all this spring. The Theta\u00a0chapter can certainly be proud of\u00a0their hard working men inspired by\u00a0KAI.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
