Retired Clergyman James Allen\u00a0Kestle ’24 has had an active and\u00a0satisfying career as as Methodist\u00a0clergyman. Since graduation he has been a minister for several congregations\u00a0in ,Pennsylvania and\u00a0Minnesota. He served as Director of\u00a0the Methodist Hospital and Home for\u00a0the Aged; The Methodist Hospital and\u00a0Home for the Aged; The Methodist\u00a0Training Center; Conference\u00a0Historical Society\u00a0and was on the Conference Board of\u00a0Education, Pittsburgh Conference\u00a0Board of Ministerial Training; Pittsburgh\u00a0Conference Commission on\u00a0Economic and Social Relations;\u00a0Ailegheny County Council of Churches\u00a0and Pennsylvania Council of\u00a0Churches. He has also served on\u00a0numerous boards and conferences in\u00a0Eastern Pennsylvania and Minnesota.\u00a0Brother Kestle was a radio\u00a0preacher for more than fifteen years\u00a0and received an honorary Doctor of\u00a0Divinity from Ohio Wesleyan\u00a0University in 1939. He has travelled\u00a0widely through Europe and the Near\u00a0East and was a tour director to the\u00a0Holy Lands and Europe in 1969, ’70,\u00a0’71 and ’72. He has also authored \u00a0several pageants, plays and Poems\u00a0for the Pittsburgh Conference,\u00a0Lakeside Chautauqua Association\u00a0Diamond Jubilee, National Methodist\u00a0Stewardship Pageant; AliquiPPa\u00a0City-wide Pageant and the Pennsylvania\u00a0State Sunday School Convention\u00a0Pageant.<\/p>\n
James is a third generation\u00a0Methodist Clergyman. He and his\u00a0wife, the former Jane McKown, have\u00a0two children.
