Although Theta Chapter had thirteen\u00a0men in the Naval and Marine Reserves, a\u00a0last minute check-up reveals that only seven of them will return to Ohio Wesleyan when\u00a0the new Naval school opens here in July.\u00a0The four Marine Reservists are all expected to be sent to Oberlin College Marine school,\u00a0while two of the former V-1 men, now\u00a0V-12, are being sent to the Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago.<\/p>\n
Those who will be returning are: Howard\u00a0Anderson, senior; Richard Gregg, junior;\u00a0Chester Hanson, sophomore; Bob Harris, sophomore; James Williams, freshman;\u00a0William Chanault, freshman; and Donald\u00a0Smith, freshman.<\/p>\n
Those in the Marine reserve are: Robert\u00a0Best, senior; Charles Orway, junior; William Foster, junior; and William Anthony,\u00a0junior.<\/p>\n
The two Naval reservists going to Illi \u00a0nois Tech are Paul Bickel, sophomore, and\u00a0Jack Pocock, freshman.<\/p>\n
The Betas lost sixteen men to the Army\u00a0this year and one to the Marine Corps.\u00a0Six of the Army men were in the Enlisted\u00a0Reserve Corps, while the others were drafted from time to time, enlisted in the Air\u00a0Corps or the regular army.<\/p>\n
Those in the E.R.C. were: Robert Brent-linger. senior: William Frecrnan. Robert\u00a0Barr, Gail Donnalley, Juniors; and sophomores Dale Minton and Wayne Mcfarland.\u00a0The Air Corps men were sophomores\u00a0Robert Mauck and Hugh Troth.
\nThe men who enlisted or went in the\u00a0draft were: Charles Gatesman, Ray Megi \u00a0rian, Richard Johnson, James Jervin, Dan\u00a0Slenker, Paul Powers, Robert Hunter, and\u00a0Henry Briggs. Maurice Hollenbaugh enlisted in the Marines.<\/p>\n
