This issue of The Theta Review was originally scheduled for\u00a0publication on the first of June. However, the two men who\u00a0were assisting your editor in writing the material were called\u00a0into the Army before they had a chance to write more than four\u00a0or five articles in this edition. Because of the heavy load of\u00a0writing, proof reading, and other work necessary for publication,\u00a0it was impossible for your editor to get The Review out any\u00a0sooner.<\/p>\n
At this writing, the Ohio Wesleyan Naval Training Unit\u00a0(V-12) is now in its second week of operation. Among this\u00a0group are seven men from Theta Chapter and three from the\u00a0Kenyon Chapter. In addition, there is one civilian active on the\u00a0campus.<\/p>\n
These eleven men have gotten busy on rushing in spite of\u00a0the heavy load carried by all of them. The results are beginning\u00a0to show already. Three men have been pledged so Ear, one\u00a0civilian and two V-12 freshmen. There are several more who\u00a0are being rushed at the present.<\/p>\n
Under the new Navy V-12 program, trainees are eligible\u00a0to join fraternities Since there will be a new group of fresh \u00a0men coming in every four months, it will be possible to pledge\u00a0men throughout the year.<\/p>\n
The men of Theta Chapter who are still on the campus are\u00a0doing a fine job of adapting the fraternity to the wartime basis.\u00a0If this spirit prevails, there should be no reason at all for Theta\u00a0Chapter to cease functioning for the duration.<\/p>\n
Your editor feels that, in spite of the fact that The Theta\u00a0Review should have been in your hands more than a month ago,\u00a0it is worth having it late just to bring you this message.<\/p>\n
I hope that you have enjoyed this issue, and that it may\u00a0bring back memories of the days you spent in “Old Theta”. If\u00a0you would like to have more issues of The Review, please let\u00a0us know.<\/p>\n
