Albert C. Long, Delaware high school\u00a0senior, was elected Governor of the Eighth\u00a0Annual Boy’s State held at Ohio Wesleyan\u00a0in June of this year. He is the son of\u00a0A. C. Long, ’22, well known horse-breeder.<\/p>\n

Al was elected to this position, probably\u00a0the highest honor which can be given to a\u00a0high school hoy in Ohio, in a hotly con tested race. However, his ability as a public speaker, and as a politician, made him\u00a0the dominant candidate.<\/p>\n

He was also nominated and elected for\u00a0a second term in the first primary and\u00a0election run by Boy Staters in its eighth\u00a0year history.<\/p>\n

Boy’s State is sponsored each year by\u00a0the American Legion to give the youth of\u00a0tomorrow a knowledge of the mechanics of\u00a0government in the hope that it will inculcate a sense of individual obligation to\u00a0government, and inspire good citizenship.\u00a0The boys who attend are the leaders of\u00a0the youth in the various communities\u00a0throughout Ohio.<\/p>\n

Besides having been elected governor of\u00a0Boy’s State, Al was president of the Junior\u00a0Class and is the Chief Executive of the\u00a0Delaware High School student body. He\u00a0was chosen All-Central Buckeye tackle, and\u00a0is captain of the team next year.<\/p>\n

Al was pledged by Theta chapter at the\u00a0mid-year rushing, along with several other\u00a0of Delaware’s high school leaders. He expects to enter Wesleyan next February\u00a0under the Navy plan.<\/p>\n
