Frederick K. Johnson, Beta from Ash land, climaxed an active college career at\u00a0the mid-semester graduate\u00a0exercises\u00a0held\u00a0in January.<\/p>\n
Johnson entered Ohio Wesleyan in the\u00a0fall of 1939, and immediately pledged\u00a0Beta Theta Pi. He joined the Freshman\u00a0Players, and was busy the entire year. His\u00a0excellent characterization of a servant of\u00a0Petruchio in the Shakespearian Festival\u00a0production of “The Taming of the Shrew”\u00a0that spring won the high praise of critics\u00a0and audience. For his continued work in\u00a0dramatics he was elected into Wesleyan
\nPlayers.<\/p>\n
Besides his interest in dramtics, Johnson\u00a0was active in musical organizations, and\u00a0was initiated into Phi Mu Alpha, national\u00a0men’s music honorary last spring. His\u00a0sophomore year, he played in both marching and concert bands, and his deep bass\u00a0voice stood out among the members of the\u00a0Singer’s Club. During his senior year,\u00a0Fred was elected president of the latter\u00a0organization, and became a member of Ohio\u00a0Wesleyan’s famous A Capella Choir.<\/p>\n
The name of Fred Johnson ranked high\u00a0on the campus as a political leader. For\u00a0two years, he was instrumental in guiding\u00a0the political party through those wide-open,\u00a0anything-goes campaigns Wesleyan is noted\u00a0for. Last year, his guidance ot Brent linger’s campaign for Athletic representa \u00a0tive ended in a landslide victory.<\/p>\n
In addition to these activities, Johnson\u00a0found time for Freshman Bible Club, and\u00a0to be number one man on the tennis team.<\/p>\n
Fred is now in the Army Air Corps\u00a0Material Command, stationed at Wright\u00a0Field, Dayton.<\/p>\n
