The social committee tries to plan one every month. This year the social season got off to a quick start with a hay (hey!) ride on October 25th. There were some thirty girls picking hay from their hair and munching on cookies and warming up with cocoa after the ride was over. Then, of course, there was the annual Exchange Dinners with the freshmen in Stuyvesant Hall. They were held on the 17th and 22nd of October, and the Beta House overflowed with lovely ladies these evenings.

One of the most unique parties on the campus this year was held on December 5th. It was the Progressive Party, which proved to be an all afternoon and evening affair. It began at four &clock in the after noon at the bowling alleys, then progressed to the house for a buffet supper, and then back downtown for the show. It was definitely different and was a great hit.

After the Christmas holidays, the Betas invited all the Beta sisters and sweethearts on the campus to the Annual Sister Party. They were escorted to the house for Sun day dinner, and then spent the afternoon getting acquainted with their Beta brothers. Twenty girls came to the party.

In February, the social committee over did itself and presented two parties in one, a scavanger hunt and a come-as-you-arc party. There were many interesting cos tumes, including multi-colored pajamas. As an additional feature, the Army Fifth Command and the office of Civilian Defense cooperated by having a blackout right in the middle of the party.

The last informal party of the year was an extravaganza called the Fun Frolic. Every game known was offered plus dan cing and ping-pong.

These parties are not all the Betas do socially.
