DR. WINCHELL McK. CRAIG,\u00a015, now a surgeon at. the Mayo\u00a0Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota,\u00a0writes that he was the first reserve doctor in the Navy to he promoted\u00a0to the rank of Rtar Admiral at the\u00a0end of the recent war.<\/p>\n
Since his separation from the serivice in 1946, Admiral Craig has\u00a0been retained in various capacities\u00a0in the Navy and the Department of Defense. Since 1949, he writes, “I\u00a0have been in Washington at least\u00a0twice a month working in a “task\u00a0force” for the Secretary of Defense . . . A group of doctors from all\u00a0the services and reserve components have been reviewing the status\u00a0of reserve medical officers to recommend changes relative to their duties and status. This is designed to increase the efficiency and make\u00a0service with the various medical\u00a0corps more desirable and useful.”<\/p>\n
