The undergraduate chapter pledged 18 top men for the 100th anniversary class Of 1953 during, the rushing season at the beginning of school this fall.<\/p>\n

Under the direction of vice. president Bill Littick for the second year, th chapter managed to clear the field by taking the top freshman as pledges. Other members of the Rush Committee headed by Littick arc: Dan Ransom, Bill Long, Henry Anderson, Bix Newhard, Robert\u00a0Johnson, Bob Freitag, and Tom Taylor.<\/p>\n

The committee and the chapter\u00a0pledged men that boast a combined total Of approximately 60 high school varsity letters, five class of flees, and seven memberships in national honor societies.<\/p>\n

These new men are as following<\/p>\n

Dick Eiken won the Mitre Cup\u00a0of DuPont Manual high school in\u00a0Louisville, while Davanport was\u00a0awarded the Harvard honors. V. Baker Smith won the Michigan\u00a0award for all schools in Washing \u00a0ton while Ted Chaney copped an\u00a0award for the highest scholastic average for four years among the\u00a0men in his high school. Three\u00a0pledges went to Buckeye Boys’\u00a0State, and all saw service in honor\u00a0tries and clubs while in high\u00a0school.<\/p>\n
