DOOVE &#8217;28\u00a0 MEMORIAL TESTAMENT \u00a0TO \u00a0STRENGTH OF THE BPNDS BROTHERHOOD<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>By Tom Tatham &#8217;56<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In Theta chapter\u2019s history, there Are many family names that have been prominent, with fathers, uncles, brothers all a part of the Theta chapter tamily- names such as Anderson, Clark, Doan., Long, Guy, Myers, Halliday, Wyant, Mauk ,Littick, Van Buren, kestle, Hammond. Vler bome. None has been more prominent in tems of numbers\u00a0 as well as devotion to the spirit of Beta than the name Dovc. Robert I. Dove\u00a0 &#8217;28 was adevoted Beta for many years until his death in 1976. Robert, or R.I. as his classmates called him, and his wife: Elizabeth Dove, had four sons, all of whom became OWU Theta \u00a0Betas -Dave&#8217;53, Make and Frank &#8217;58 and T. Clark &#8217;63.<\/p>\n<p>In mamory of their father and husband, they have made a significant contributionto the current capital found for \u2018..needed house repairs to the chapter house at your Committee\u2019s discretion.&#8221; Along with their contribution ,Dave &#8217;53 writes:<\/p>\n<p>Theta chapter of Beta Theta PI arid OWU have \u00a0long been a part of the Dove family traditions .Our grandfather, R.R,Dove, and his brother, T.C.. Dove ,were Betas, class of 1902. My brothers and I are fifth-generation OWU graduates and Ashley Dove, Continurd\u00a0Frank&#8217;s daughter, is a sixth-generation graduate. Our mother, Lib Dove, is still a generous contributor\u00a0 to\u00a0 OWU and lives in Shelbyville, 111., world headquarters of the Dove clan. Mother and I recently met with Dr. Arthur Fleming while he was on speaking tour in Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>My brother Clark and I are living in Arizona. I&#8217;ve been here since 1959, Clark is an attorney and I am a stockbrokar with Dean witter. Mike (Bo) and Frank are taking care of business in Shelbyville, Bo as bank president and Frank as an attorney. The RI. Dove memorial is very much appreciated by the House Corporation and will be used for\u00a0 renovation projects planned for this: summer of 1996. This contribution will continue to serve as a reminder to each of us of the legacy of brothers &#8211; and sons-to those youth who follow\u00a0 in our path.
